Whole cloves are dried flower buds that are hand-harvested. Whole cloves are used when studding onions, ham, or other meat. They may be also used when making pickles or baking. Cloves are used frequently in Indian and Mexican dishes.
Cloves are potent so use sparingly. However, a bottle of whole cloves stored properly will last longer than your lifetime.
